About
Hey friends! Glad to have you here.
My name is Jetha Chan, and I’m a Technical Solutions Consultant at Google. As part of the AI Developer Relations team, I work with my colleagues at Google Cloud and Google DeepMind to help developers out there understand and use AI.
I’m a software engineer by training, and I’ve been working in the tech industry for over 10 years. I’ve worked on a variety of projects, from small startups to large enterprises.
I’m a huge fan of the open source community, and actually my first real job after college was at Moodle, a leading open source learning management system. It’s interesting to have come full circle, seeing as my day job primarily involves working with Gemma, our open weights LLM based on the same research behind Gemini.
I joined Google in 2020 as a Technical Solutions Consultant working on Google Stadia, our now defunct cloud gaming service, and while I’m very proud of the work we accomplished there, the nature of the games industry and the partners we worked with means that even now I can’t really talk about it openly.
Prior to my work at Google, I worked on a variety of projects in the games industry, from a title for Nintendo at the twilight of the 3DS’s life (Tank Troopers) through to my work on the Lupin the Third XR Ride at Universal Studios Japan.
I’m currently based in Tokyo, Japan, arguably the most exciting city in the world. If you’re ever in town, I’d love to meet up!
Previously, I’ve lived in:
- Kyoto, Japan
- Himeji, Japan
- Perth, Australia (my hometown!)
- Wellington, New Zealand (my place of birth!)
…and while I hope Tokyo will be my last stop, who can really say?
I’m a social media fiend, and you can find me on the following platforms:
Feel free to follow or contact me on any of the above, I’m always happy to meet new people.
